Wisteria trees. Their blossoms seem to rain down and give shelter from everything that’s happening outside.

One afternoon I had the picture in my mind of what it would look like. So I got to work on a canvas, priming it and layering the background with an assortment of acrylics. Once that was done, I painted the trunk and branches, adding a touch of colour.

Then came the part I’d been dreaming about. Using a handful of cotton buds, I dropped in shades of pink, purple, blue and white, I made the blossoms rain down… The finished piece is exactly how it looked in my mind.
