This is my mother and I hope my drawing captures her silent beauty and resilience. She’s very dear and special to me; she taught me how to draw and paint, she encouraged me to explore paper crafts and to make paper decorations, and although she doesn’t understand how my Asperger’s affects me, I can’t ever forget the closeness I had to her when I was smaller.
I tried to imagine her before I was born, the hardships she faced and the suffering she experienced in her lifetime. I tried very hard to capture her feelings in a moment of her youth. Everything around her is part of the emotion I tried to capture in graphite.
