Why is it so important for us to be defined and labelled? Why do we have to be one thing or the other for the rest of our lives? Sometimes I wonder why we can’t just experience ourselves as we are in the moment…

For this portrait I was experimenting with blurring the lines between male and female, religion and sacrilege, good and evil. In that moment I felt happy to be somewhere in-between and free to move along that line as and when I please.
