This painting is one of three so far, a vertical polyptych that is the first of its kind. I started with the cosmos (Candy Station) and then progressed onto the second panel (Dragon’s Forecast), a portal opened somewhere above the stratosphere of a planet with creatures escaping. This third panel here depicts a stormy ocean and at least two sea creatures locked in battle with a ship caught in the crest of a wave.

In my exploration of polyptychs, I’ve found they’ve only extended horizontally and I was surprised by this. There’s so much more that can be done if they were vertical and the challenge I’ve set for myself is seeing how far they can go.
