Ground Zero is usually described as the point on the earth’s surface directly above or below an exploding nuclear bomb. For me, 2016 was a gradual build-up to the point of detonation in early 2017.
This experiment with acrylics shows the fallout from that explosion of my life. It was a very public event, an extremely violent one. But without it, I wouldn’t be here now; much calmer now that I’m away from all those destructive triggers.
I let the brush guide me and just allowed the colours to tell the story of what happened one January morning…
