This painting takes us to a peaceful scene in Enfield, verging on the border with the Hertfordshire woodlands, once the King’s hunting ground and rumoured to be one of the resting places for the fabled Holy Grail.

It’s one of my sanctuaries, a place to get away from the noise and the people. There’s a spiritual pull here as well, where the light can be magical, mystical and mysterious.
