I’ve long been fascinated by cubist art. The idea to look at something from different perspectives is a skill I seem to lack, but I am keen to explore it.

I started working on a self-portrait, and I knew I would struggle. There’s often a stage when I think everything I’m doing is pointless, and I get angry and want to destroy it. But I always try to keep going.

I tried to see myself from different perspectives, not the way I want to look, but the way others see me. Do people focus on my eyes, my mouth, or my ears? I thought about what features I tend to focus on with others, and to imagine how that might be different.
